Scaffolding at St Mary’s Church Autumn 2025

What is happening at St Mary’s this Autumn? 

St Mary’s is undergoing urgent roof repairs due to slipping slates and failing fixings.

Scaffolding will be erected around St Mary’s in late October for essential roof repairs. Repairs are expected to last about a month.

The repairs involve removing slates, fitting new battens, re-laying slates, and adding insulation to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon footprint. ​

The total cost of the repairs is £43,000; fundraising efforts are ongoing, and donations are requested from the community. ​
