Love Your Burial Ground Week – Churches Count on Nature event June 2026
For over 16 years, “Caring for God’s Acre” has been encouraging all who help to look after churchyards, chapel yards and cemeteries to celebrate these fantastic places during the lovely month of June.
A few stalwarts of St Mary’s and our neighbouring churches supported the Love Your Burial Ground week by attending a Wildlife recording afternoon at St Mary’s on Sunday, 6th June 2026. Young and old, we had an amazing time recording flora, fauna and birdlife using clipboards and various apps – iNaturalist and Merlin Birds apps. The wildlife recorded has been forwarded to Caring for God’s Acre to create an international database of environmental information.
