The organ is a living, breathing machine and, as with any musical instrument, organs need to be cared for. Scaffolding at St Mary’s Church Autumn 2025
What is happening at St Mary’s this Autumn? St Mary’s is undergoing urgent roof repairs due to slipping slates and failing fixings. Scaffolding will be erected around St Mary’s in late October for essential roof repairs. Repairs are expected to last about a month. The repairs involve removing slates, fitting new battens, re-laying slates, and adding insulation to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon footprint. Autumn Churchyard Clean Up Morning
We will be holding an autumn churchyard clean up session on Saturday 25th October from 9.30am-12.30pm. Please come and join Russell and his team put the churchyard to bed for the winter. Lots of jobs on offer - trimming, mowing, bonfire management etc. Light refreshments will be provided. Bring your own tools if you have any, although a variety are available.
