Roof Repairs have started at St Mary’s – Autumn 2025
As many of you will have seen, scaffolding has been erected around St Mary’s Church, Micheldever. We would like to tell you what is happening….. The roof of the chancel (built circa 1880) is covered in very large format slates which are beautiful, but extremely uneven. A recent survey showed that some of the slates have slipped out of line, probably due to the sheer weight of the individual slates. The second "Tea for a Cause" of 2025 is taking place this Saturday in the Northbrook Hall at 2pm. Everyone welcome. This tea party is in aid of St Mary's Church and The Northbrook Hall. There will be a raffle and lots of tea and cakes. Everyone welcome as well as furry friends. .

What is happening at St Mary’s this Autumn? St Mary’s is undergoing urgent roof repairs due to slipping slates and failing fixings. Scaffolding will be erected around St Mary’s in late October for essential roof repairs. Repairs are expected to last about a month. The repairs involve removing slates, fitting new battens, re-laying slates, and adding insulation to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon footprint.
