We are delighted to report that, despite the recent never-ending rain, the roofing repairs to the chancel and vestry roofs of St Mary’s are now complete. Were you aware that St Mary the Virgin has 5 ancient yew trees in its churchyard?  A solid and respectful remnant of a bygone age, but still growing fast, furiously and healthily into the 21st century. Please come and explore the churchyard, as they are magnificent. This year, in collaboration with Love Your Yew Week 2026, a group of enthusiastic volunteers has been trimming the ground beneath the yew trees to give these ancient specimens the best support possible in 2026.
